Reverse Number

Reverse phone lookup has been a tool that emergency fields and authorities have used for years to determine the origins of a phone call. During emergencies such as 911 calls, kidnappings, and blackmail this has proven to be an extremely useful tool.

These directories were usually reserved for the use of the police, emergency operators, libraries, and of course the phone service industry. When someone got the idea that there could be a lot of money made from them, it didn't take long for them to show up on the world wide web. Now, for a price anyone can have access to them.

Some communication companies offer a service that will allow you to store a number that has called you, then have it traced through the company records. Of course there is a fee, but if you are constantly getting prank calls or threatening message then it may be well worth the charge.

There are no shortage of internet websites that can provide you with things like the name of the carrier, name listed on the account, and even the address associated with the telephone number. Most of the sites will have some type of enrollment fee or monthly charge. The cost usually ranges from 5 dollars to 20 dollars a month depending on how much detailed information you want to get from your search.

Not every number is available to the public, only police and emergency services have access to unlisted numbers. For a nominal fee your carrier can put your number in the do not list directory. It normally only cost about 1 or 2 dollars, that is cheap if you do not like being found with ease.

The only type of device that does not have the option of being unlisted are cell phones. There is such a mass of databases containing numbers that going through and making two separate lists is just not cost efficient for any carrier, so it is not done. Phones that are referred to as throw away phones are the only type of cellular devices that do not have any readily available information attached to the number. Because of the amount of cell phone carriers that have to be searched to find the requested details, it will often cost a premium to get information from a cell number.

The best thing about reverse phone directories is that they can now be used to track down those pesky telemarketers. Not just phone marketing companies, but also those recorded messages and fund raisers that always seem to call right when you are about to sit down and do something. There was a list made of all the companies that are responsible for those types of calls, and assuming that you retain the number that they called from, you can use this list to find out who is bothering you.

There are always going to be things that you are not going to be able to find out form just a number, but this service is pretty cool and provides you with a lot. Reverse phone lookup can be used to find anyone you can imagine as long as you have that phone number.
