You can't go wrong with a class. You cannot dismiss the fact that taking a class or two is still the preferred means of learning new languages. The most experienced teachers are always of the agreement that taking things slowly is the best way to learn a new language. These teachers know that different classes can be dedicated to a different part of the language, and that is a superior way to learn. When you work in a classroom, you have the benefit of working directly with the teacher who can make sure you are learning German the correct way without picking up any bad habits. Some students also prefer working with a class because having other classmates learning the language along with you can help. Plus, it's easier to use your new language skills with people who won't get offended if you say something wrong or inappropriate.

Do you have a town near you where German is the predominant language? Spend time visiting that neighborhood. This is a great way to get the most out of learning German by immersing yourself with the culture, while not leaving the comfort of home. Neighborhoods such as these are perfect because the people will speak German the way it would be used in German or wherever else German is spoken. There is a huge difference between the German spoken by native German speakers and the German you learn about in text books. Learning how to speak German in an informal setting will help you feel more relaxed if you do ever visit a German speaking country.

There are tons of things you can do to make learning German an easier venture. Make sure you don't give in to frustration. Languages can be incredibly difficult to learn! As long as you do a little bit each day, and you put in the work that's required to learn a new language, you'll conquer German before you know it. ?
